Capital One

One of the latest and most successful entrants into fray, that is the credit card industry, is Capital One. Founded in 1988 as a subsidiary of Signet Bank, this credit card giant was so successful that the board at Signet decided to create an entirely new company, Capital One Financial Corporation. This company now acts as the issuer and guarantor of all Capital One credit cards.

The growth of Capital One Financial has been nothing short of spectacular and it is, currently, one of the four largest issuers of credit cards in the United States. Skillful marketing, combined with a wide selection of customer specific offers, catapulted this small credit card issuer into the upper echelons of U.S. financial institutions. Its copious use of information gathering and innovative technology has allowed it to tailor its credit card offerings to an unprecedented degree.

From humble beginnings in Richmond, VA, Capital One has grown, in 20 short years, to encompass a widely diversified range of financial services including auto, small business, installment and home equity loans, as well as their forte, credit cards. The company has been repeatedly received awards for its innovative strategies and its marketing campaigns. It is currently 58th on the Fortune 500 list and the fourth most admired company consumer credit company in the U.S. Lastly, it is consistently recognized as one of the most employee friendly companies in the United States.

Capital One's customers are the foundation upon which its success has been built. In recognition of this fact, the company offers the greatest variety of credit card options and rewards plans of any credit card issuer. Regardless of your needs, Capital One has a rewards program or low interest credit card that will exactly fit your needs and purchasing habits.
