The Wal-Mart® Discover® Card, issued by GE Money Bank, is designed for those with good credit who will take advantage of the cash back reward program. Through the reward program, cardholders earn a 0.25% rebate for up to $1,500 in general spending; 0.5% for over $1,500 up to $3,000; and 1% for over $3,000. Cardholders will automatically receive a cash back check each time they have accrued $10 or more in rebates. In addition to the cash back rebate, cardholders can expect additional benefits including fraud protection, a personalized billing date, and three cents savings per gallon at participating Wal-Mart® and SAM'S CLUB® gas stations. The card has no annual fee and a reasonably low interest rate for purchases (for those who qualify). However, there are minimum caps applied to all transactions, so no matter how low the Prime Rate falls (the APRs are tied to the Prime Rate), the interest rates will not go below the minimum caps. It is also important to note that the APRs for all transactions are based on the highest Prime Rate during a three-month period. This simply means that cardholders will not immediately receive the lowest possible APRs or the lowest APRs may never be reached. Therefore, those who shop frequently at Wal-Mart stores, will be able to take advantage of the reward program, and qualify for the lowest rate offered will benefit most from what the Wal-Mart® Discover® Card has to offer.
